VISION

The Department of Political Science is dedicated to delivering high-quality education, promoting the values of liberty, equality, democracy, and equipping students with policy- oriented knowledge to meet the needs of government, higher education, the market, and society. The vision of the Department is mainly to become a world-class center for learning and research that addresses pressing global challenges.

By the completion of BS Political Science degree program, the graduates will be able to:
Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Political Theories, institutions and processes at the Local, National and Global levels, with a critical thinking and analytical skills to evaluate Political Phenomena, Public Policies, and governance structures using evidence-based approaches, exhibit ethical reasoning, promote civic engagement, and contribute to society by addressing political and social challenges responsibility and inclusively and effectively communicate political ideas and findings through oral and written means Enable students to link theory with practice by using real life examples and area studies for different regions.

MISSION

We strive to evaluate, innovate, and invigorate political processes and institutions through our research, teaching, and service. As part of the faculty of Social Sciences, we share in its mission to be global leaders in top-tier research while advancing engaged learning and promoting societal well-being. The Department aims to be at the forefront of applying social science methods to evaluate contemporary political institutions and phenomena. Our goal is to deepen understanding, foster innovation through new approaches and practices, and inspire engagement among students, citizens, and leaders with greater purpose and insight. The Department’s mission encompasses three core areas:

1.As part of the University, the faculty of the Department is also dedicated to applying scientific knowledge to address practical problems and world issues.

2.The Department of Political Science is dedicated to advancing the study of politics through the development, rigorous testing, and practical application of political theories.

3.We attempt to share our findings widely with the academic community, our students, and the broader public, thereby enriching foundational knowledge within the discipline and contributing to the resolution of real-world challenges.
