Women Chairr
It is my proud privilege to introduce the women chair and feel immense pleasure
to inform that the women chair, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur is
offering career building quality education in short course programmers. It has
been successfully producing talented students since it’s the inception in 1988
and majority of our students are in job in various disciplines.
The woman chair came into being with the establishment of the full-fledges
University. In the beginning it was housed in the main facility building of the
university, sponsored by the women division, government of Pakistan in 1988 at
total cost of Rs.2.2 million. It offers short courses in eleven disciplines. At
present computer courses are taught in the one year diploma in computer science
level, six month short in computer science and certificates courses in computer
science as per the syllabus of technical board of Karachi. The women chair has
fully equipped laboratories and class rooms. Thus the overall objective of the
program is to enable students to acquire cultural and humanistic competence in
diverse walks of life quite efficiently. Also it provides basic understanding to
greater awareness and interest, to improve quality.
The chair aims at producing trained and skilled women to improve the
socio-economic conditions of the women of the rural area. The chair runs under
the supervision of a director designate, who is senior professor of the
university.
