Date Palm Research Institute
The Date Palm Research Institute (DPRI) has been established at Shah Abdul Latif
University, Khairpur in the year 2004. The project is funded by the Higher Education
Commission, Islamabad on the basis of fact that Khairpur is center of Biodiversity
for Date Palm and University is situated in the heart of Date Palm orchards.
The
Dates fruit is cash crop of this area. People concerned earn their living through
this crop. The institute has been established to conduct research on all possible
aspects of Date Palm and tackle problems growers are facing.
