DIRECTORATE OF ACADEMIC AND HIGHER EDUCATION LINKAGE PROGRAMS
As per directives of higher education commission Islamabad in connection to setup a linkage programs with local and foreign universities/ industries to facilitate the development of the university of Pakistan to the level of world class centers of education research and development and mobilize financial technical and social resources for enhancing the quality of educational institutions. Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur has established a directorate academics and higher education linkage programs in order to develop the university to the level of world class centers of education and research.
The main objectives of the directorate are to develop research training capacity of the departments of all disciplines management system development in course and curriculum arrangements of seminars and workshops. Exchange of faculties within Pakistan Universities and abroad and linkages with local industries to upgrade socio-economic development.
The directorate has started its work for promotion of education standards since it establishes. In this connection following faculty members have visited this university during the academic session 2008 to date under STEP.

- Prof. Dr. jamil Hussan Kazmi, Department of Geography, University of Karachi.
- Prof. Dr. Adil Ahmed Mehmoud Ahmed of Egypt is under foreign faculty hiring program initially for one semester.

- Prof. Dr. Shamsuddin Shaikh, Chairman, Department of Zoology , University of Sindh Jamshoro.
- Prof. Dr. Ali Murtaza Dharejo, Department of Zoology , University of Sindh Jamshoro.
- Dr. Saeed Ahmed Wagan, Retired Professor, Department of Zoology , University of Sindh Jamshoro.
DDirectorate has successfully provided HEC-Japanese need based scholarship to the 04 students who from science and two from arts faculty of social science. New application for HEC-JNBS have been called and are under process.
The directorate is striving to bring the university up from the cadre of the weaker University by establishing the linkage with the universities of U.K, U.S.A and of the Islamic world in science and technology.
