آج کا دن محض ایک دن نہیں، یہ ایک دور ہے، ایک یاد ہے، اور ایک دعا ہے۔ ہم سب اس سبز ہلالی پرچم کے سائے تلے کھڑے ہیں — وہ پرچم جو ہماری آزادی، ایمان اور وقار کی علامت ہے۔ اس کی سرسبزی میں شہداء کا خون شامل ہے اور اس کی ہر لہر میں مجاہدین کی دعائیں ہیں۔

یاد رکھیں! آزادی ہمیں آسانی سے نہیں ملی… یہ قربانیوں کا قرض ہے۔ ہزاروں جانوں کے نذرانے، لاکھوں خوابوں کی قربانیاں اور کروڑوں دلوں کی دعائیں اس مٹی کی خوشبو میں شامل ہیں۔

معرکۂ حق اور آپریشن بنیان المرصوص ہمیں اپنی بہادر فوج اور قوم کے اس عزم اور حوصلے کی یاد دلاتے ہیں جنہوں نے ملک کی خودمختاری کا دفاع کیا اور دہشت گردی کو شکست دی۔

آج اگر ہم آزاد فضاؤں میں سانس لے رہے ہیں، تو ہمیں اُن ماؤں کے آنسو کبھی نہیں بھولنے چاہئیں جنہوں نے اپنے جگر کے ٹکڑوں کو وطن پر قربان کر دیا۔ ہمیں اُن بہادر بہنوں کا حوصلہ بھی یاد رکھنا ہوگا جنہوں نے فخر سے سر بلند اور دل مضبوط رکھتے ہوئے اپنے بھائیوں کو وطن کی حفاظت کے لیے محاذ پر رخصت کیا۔ اور اُن بزرگوں کی دعائیں بھی ناقابلِ فراموش ہیں جنہوں نے اپنا گھر، اپنی زمین اور اپنا سب کچھ چھوڑ دیا لیکن پاکستان کا سبز ہلالی پرچم کبھی نہ جھکنے دیا۔

میرے محترم اساتذہ! آپ علم کا چراغ ہیں۔ آپ کی سچی باتیں، شاگردوں کو دی جانے والی مخلصانہ نصیحتیں، اور آپ کا خوبصورت عملی کردار ہماری نسلوں کی تقدیر بدل سکتا ہے۔

یونیورسٹی کے افسران اور ملازمین ساتھیو! آپ اس ادارے کی بنیاد ہیں۔ آپ کی محنت اور دیانت سے ہی یونیورسٹی کا وقار بلند رہے گا۔

عزیز طالبات اور پیارے طلبہ! آپ پاکستان کا روشن مستقبل ہیں۔ آپ کا جذبہ، آپ کا علم، عمل اور آپ کا عزم اس وطن کی سب سے بڑی طاقت ہے۔

آج، اس پرچم کے سامنے، آئیے ہم وعدہ کریں —

کوتاہی نہیں

جھوٹ نہیں

نفرت نہیں

ہم اپنے کام میں کوتاہی نہیں کریں گے،— جھوٹ نہیں بولیں گے، —اور نفرت نہیں پھیلائیں گے۔ ہم اپنے حصے کی روشنی، اپنی محنت، اور اپنا سچا کردار ادا کریں گے۔

تعلیم، تحقیق اور کردار سازی پر کبھی سمجھوتہ نہیں کریں گے۔ مایوسی نہیں، بلکہ اُمید بانٹیں گے۔ نفرت اور جھگڑا نہیں، بلکہ محبت اور اتحاد پیدا کریں گے۔

یاد رکھیں! پاکستان ہم سے ہے… اور ہم پاکستان سے ہیں۔ اگر ہم سب ایک دل، ایک مقصد اور ایک جذبے کے ساتھ چلیں تو دنیا کی کوئی طاقت پاکستان کی ترقی کو نہیں روک سکتی۔

آئیے، اس موقع پر دعا کریں:

اے اللہ! اس وطن کو امن، خوشحالی اور ترقی عطا فرما، اور ہمیں اپنی ذمہ داریاں ایمانداری سے ادا کرنے کی توفیق دے۔ یہ سبز ہلالی پرچم ہمیشہ بلند رہے اور آنے والی نسلیں اس کے سائے میں فخر سے زندگی گزاریں۔

Pride & Patriotism: SALU Khairpur Celebrates 78th Independence Day with Grandeur & Zeal

Flag Hoisting, Cultural Performances & Inspiring Speeches Mark the Joyous Occasion

The 78th Pakistan Independence Day was celebrated with great zeal, devotion, and national spirit at the Flag Lawn near the Science Faculty Building at Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Khairpur Mir’s. The event was attended by faculty members, officers, staff, students of SALU, and Model School Khairpur.

The celebrations began with the Flag Hoisting Ceremony, where the National Flag was hoisted by the Vice Chancellor, Meritorious Professor Dr. Yousuf Khushk. Following the ceremony, the Vice Chancellor cut a cake to mark the occasion. A tug-of-war competition between officers, employees, and students was also held, adding enthusiasm to the event.

After the flag hoisting, the Independence Day program continued at the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Chair, featuring inspiring speeches, patriotic tableaux, cultural performances, and national songs presented by students. The attendees, dressed in national colors, participated actively, making the event memorable. The academic community celebrated the day with pride, unity, and enthusiasm.

In his speech, Dr. Yousuf Khushk congratulated everyone on the 78th Independence Day, emphasizing the importance of freedom and the sacrifices made by the nation’s forefathers. He stated, "This day is not just a celebration but a reminder of the sacrifices made by our elders, who gave their lives for the creation of Pakistan."

He highlighted the responsibility of the current generation to strengthen the country and pass on a better Pakistan to future generations. Recalling historical struggles like freedom movements, he paid tribute to the martyrs and soldiers who fought for independence. "Their sacrifices are a debt we must repay by ensuring a prosperous future for our youth," he said.

Addressing teachers, he emphasized their role in shaping the nation’s future through education. To officers and employees, he stressed the importance of honesty and hard work in strengthening institutions. Speaking to students, he praised the bravery of soldiers and leadership that secured Pakistan’s freedom and made the country prosperous and safe.

He urged everyone to pledge honesty, reject lies, promote love, and work hard for national progress. "Let us promise, under this flag, that we will uphold truth, end hatred, and spread knowledge and unity," he advised.

Later addressing the event at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Chair, Dr. Yousuf Khushk applauded the students, especially Model School participants, for their outstanding performances. He credited teachers and parents for nurturing talent and paid tribute to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah for his leadership.

Reflecting on Pakistan’s natural beauty and resources, he encouraged unity, truthfulness, and hard work for progress. "If we clean our streets, our neighborhoods will be clean, so change starts with us," he said.

Dr. Wahid Bux Jatoi (Pro-Vice Chancellor) called freedom a blessing and urged responsible citizenship for national development.

He concluded with a renewed commitment to honesty, love, and progress for Pakistan’s future.

Dr. Naveed Ahmed Shaikh (Dean, Social Sciences) spoke on the importance of freedom and sacrifices. Dr. Noor Ahmed Shaikh (Dean, Physical Sciences) appreciated students’ performances and passion. Dr. Minhoon Khan Laghari (Dean, Management Sciences) encouraged celebrating the day with greater enthusiasm. Dr. Mushtaque Ali Jakhrani (Dean, Natural Sciences) expressed gratitude for living in an independent country.

Falak Naz (Principal, Model School) highlighted the value of freedom and sacrifices.

Later, Vice Chancellor also hoisted the flag at the Officers Welfare Association, planted a tree, and inaugurated an office.

The proceedings of event was conducted by Dr. Ali Raza Lashari.
